In 2015, we were awarded a Community Challenge Grant that funded our rainwater catchment system which collects water from the church roof, stores it in a 1,850 gallon tank for garden watering during the dry months. Any overflow, is diverted to the garden and serves to recharge the western aquifer.

In 2020, we were awarded a second CCG that funded the building of more plots, completion of the small tomato hothouse, new California native plants to attract pollinators, a garden bench on 43rd Ave., and a site specific mural called, The Interconnectedness of All Living Things.

Started in 2013 by neighbors Doug Jacuzzi & Phil Lonsdale, and with the help of many dedicated volunteers along the way, this 24 plot garden provides a special and protected growing space here in the foggy dunes.

Independent from St. Paul’s Church, we are grateful for the opportunity to garden on their property and to take care of their grounds. The San Francisco Parks Alliance is our fiscal sponsor and their support has allowed us to apply for several San Francisco Community Challenge Grants.
